I need help in upgrading my outdated WordPress, then in updating my Mailpoet to version 3, in that order

My Mailpoet 2 failed to deliver today. I upgraded to Mailpoet 3 a few weeks ago but without upgrading the version of WordPress, which caused another failure. I want to stick with WordPress but replace the email function with Constact Contact.

We use a Joomla plugin called FIELDSATTACH, which transfers a content that we add via the editor to a module position. This plugin is out of service. The plugin website is offline. The plugin works with Joomla 3.7.4 and PHP 5.6 but after upgrading to Joomla 3.8.3 the plugin doesn't work anymore. It is also questionable whether it works with PHP 7.0/7.1. We need your help to make the plugin work with the latest version of Joomla and at least PHP 7.0. The programmer receives a copy of the website and can make the changes on his own server.
