Im a prop builder and I'm in need of a skilled Arduino programmer to assist with a stepper motor project. I have an Arduino Uno and a CNC shield, and need help in programming them to make my stepper motor move back and forth at different times. Im building the opening scene can opener in Back to the Future. marker 2:20 [login to view URL] This is for my cat Daisy, I want to make an automated can opener because Back to the Future is my all-time favorite movie and it would be so fun to make and have. I started 3d modeling it back in college for a project but COVID ruined my class and never got to learn Arduino... I have pretty much all the pieces and mostly figured out how everything should work. The key requirements are: - Configuring Arduino Uno and CNC shield to properly interface with the stepper motor - Writing code that allows the motor to move back and forth, stop, go and have a timer when to do that - Implementing code that will allow for automatic control based on switch input possibly? - Integrating limit switches to control the motor's movement Ideal skills and experience for this project include: - Proficiency in Arduino programming - Experience with stepper motors and CNC shields - Understanding of sensor input integration - Knowledge of limit switches and how to implement them in Arduino - Strong communication skills to guide me through the process and explain the code I'm looking for someone who can not only write the necessary code but also help me understand and troubleshoot it. Your assistance will be invaluable in bringing this project to life.

I think that to carry out the movements in the video, pap motors would be necessary for the arm, and relays to operate the can opener and the ramp at the beginning. Greetings!!

Hello, I am a control and automation engineer. I have to say that I'm a huge Back to the Future fan. I really liked the concept you had in mind. If we look at the technical part, I don't know what kind of motors you have and which drivers you are using, but if you give me this information, I can prepare an electrical schematic for you. The software part will be quite simple, we can also add a button for input, we can also make an add-on such as proximity, temperature, brightness sensor according to your request. I do not recommend a GSM or Bluetooth style interface as it will make the project more complex. The canning noise attracts my cat's attention a lot, but we can also add an MP3 player if you want. It will take me approximately 3-4 hours to complete the project. We can discuss the details via PM.
