I registered with Freelancer two years ago and have 177 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing, proofreading, and transcribing. My technical writing training included the writing of manuals, and I have edited a number of training manuals, including for the security firm at Auckland University, the NZ Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and a local health provider.
For one year I have been the copy editor for The International Journal of Wellbeing, an online journal, and about six months ago I began as the copy editor for the Blind Foundation of New Zealand.
For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers.
I have worked with individual clients to bring more than 25 books to publication and seven of these clients have rehired me to work on further books.
Having been a teacher of English in high school for four years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For an additional two years I was a teacher of English as a second language.
I will not be available for about 20 hours from now, as today is my wedding anniversary and I am downing tools shortly. However, once back online, I will not have any other pressing deadlines.
