Help with a couple of Ruby on Rails controllers

I have a working application that a need help doing 2 small updates to. I will explain them. I'm just learning Ruby so I'm not sure where to put the fix. First issue On this site I have a list of products that are put into a shopping cart. This all works fine. There is an ajax routine to update the cart when a product is selected. The issue is that the checkout link should be different for an administrator. It's just not picking up the correct path. When not doing a search it works fine. Second issue In the system we can make products inactive. When they are inactive they should not show up in the list of available products. So the select is not checking for this flag.
