We require a fix to a solution which automates batch renaming/resizing of images based on data currently contained in a excel spreadsheet. The script is written in Python.
The solution is very nearly complete. The programmer who was working on the script before is no longer available to apply the small fix to the script or be available for future updates.
The files being renamed and resized are product image files of differing dimensions for a website.
The bug in the script currently is that it does not use the correct source image when it resizes/renames the images. The script currently uses the same source image for each attribute.
I have attached the:
• Current example output of images from the script (based on Product SKU u1095)
• Desired example output of images once this fix is applied (based on Product SKU u1095)
• Source images used (based on Product SKU u1095)
• The spreadsheet the script uses is attached ([login to view URL])
“Product Images” sheet includes the original file name of the source image in the “Image 1” column. This name corresponds to the image file name in the images directory.
The desired product image file names are stored in the other sheet “Product Media Integration”. In the “Media File Name” column.
The data is matched up via the “Attribute1 (Colour/Finish) column in “Product Images” sheet and “Attribute1 Association” in “Product Media Integration” sheet.
The images must be renamed according to size with the correct file name and placed in the correct dimension directory.
Correspondence done via Skype, Email and telephone if required.
Current python script looks like this:
