What is the project? Deploy several ARM-based micro computers in different Network locations, and run some tests to simulate real-world user traffic and monitor bandwidth and latency from a customer point of view. Those results should be send every 5 minute to our NMS via HTTP or another protocol. What is the platform? Quad-Core ARM-based Debian micro-computers (PoE powered), 1Gbps port, with 1GB RAM and 4GB flash drive. What tests should be done? - Continuous latency test and jitter - Download files every X minutes from different addresses and record total download time and average transfer rate during download. - network response time (TCP Handshake) - application response time (Time to First Byte) – if possible - MTR - if possible What is also required? - A light Web UI to configure different parameters and see results in real-time.
