I am developing a hybrid mobile app using Apache Cordova. I am using Cordova as I have expertise in html, JavaScript and CSS. I also have php and MySQL as my backend. I need to run this app both on Android and IOS. I have some questions regarding how to send notifications from my backend (php) to the mobile apps. I will send about three to five notifications per day. The notifications should be delivered even when the mob app is not active. I want to avoid using Google Firebase if possible. I want to talk to the chosen bidder on phone to discuss the options available for sending notifications without Google Firebase even when app is not running. The pros and cons of this approach. Someone who has experience in this can guide me. I will develop the application myself. I only need to talk to someone who has done something similar - before I start developing the app.
