Desktop application that links to online resources

Hello, I would propose a Java desktop application (Java 7+). Using JavaFX it is possible to create a CSS controlled application. (JavaFX is the predecessor of Swing). It would also be possible to use the embedded HTML (WebKit) browser of Java 7 to show the pages. Anyways, I have 12+ years of Java experience (Swing) and the last two years JavaFX. Dear Brad I think we may choose between Java or Flex for this project, since Flex requires could be run very well between Mac and Windows. Of course, if you still want to stick with Java, that's OK :) I will use NetBeans to develop this app Since our app will get "live info" from your webapp, I think we may need create some special resource on your web server, something like image list, or an xml. heya, For your project, I would intend to use swing or javafx. Swing would work on most of the system, if java is installed, where as, javafx would provide a rich GUI, but would need min java1.7(which most systems may not have and would need to update). Do you have any UI in mind for the dashboard, or any application, whose dashboard might be similar, coz that would give a better idea on how you want the application to be. One more question that I have is there are different types of resources that you have mentioned here, do you want them to be placed separately in the application or all at same place ?
