Convert Word database into Excel

Need to convert a large mailing list of about 32,000 people into a sortable Excel file. 16 fields per name. My computer lacks the power to process it all, but it should be easy. Add one row at top in Excel with column identifiers that appear on each page as document is scrolled. Fields must align properly (so all zip-codes are in teh same row, for instance. Some fields are empty for some entries. (Yes, I know I should use a database program, not a spreadsheet, but I have excel, and know how to use it.)
