Pre-Launch Email Marketing Campaign

We’re in the process of launching a new brand on Shopify and we came across an article regarding a pre-launch marketing campaign Harry’s Razors did which was really effective. I’ve included the article below that gives you a full explanation of the campaign but in short, what they did was offer a tiered free gifting promotion based on people signing up their email and encouraging others to do the same using the unique referral code they received. Article - [login to view URL] No purchase was necessary, all a person had to do was accumulate referred emails so if they got 5 people to use their referral link and sign up they’re email they’d get a gift, if they got 10 people it was a better gift, 25 a better gift etc. This promotion was custom built but the article supplies all the code (see below), we’re just struggling to find somebody capable of implementing it as it is written in Ruby on Rails.
