i have to design PID controller i need to understand the matlab coding as well as hand calculations 1- Determine the transfer functions for each block of the system. For this, you will make use of the provided Matlab program which generates randomized data in the form of first and/or second order responses. You will need to determine the transfer function from this data, in the same way as you have done in the laboratories using the virtual lab. You will need to retain a copy of this data, as each run of the program will generate a new set of data. You need to determine the transfer function to model that data, and show via Matlab plots that your model is a good fit for the data. 2- Determine the equivalent forward transfer function in a unity feedback system, the open loop transfer function and the equivalent closed-loop transfer functions 3- Simulate the system and describe its characteristics. Include response characteristics, range of K for stability, and steady-state error. Consider the type of input which should be used for the application (note however that only step input will be tested in this project). Show the root locus and Nyquist diagram for the system. For this stage, assume the controller is simply a proportionally gain controller (i.e. Kp only). 4- Design a PID controller which will be able to manage the behaviour of the system to meet the specified system characteristics. Ensure all stages of the design process are documented in full, showing all working. Give a rationale for all choices made 5- Simulate the PID controlled system to show all characteristics. Provide all relevant plots / diagrams. Evaluate the performance of your system by reference to desired characteristics, and reflect these back to the application being considered. 6- As an extension task, repeat the design procedure using alternative design methodologies. See provided literature for design methods. Include a description of all calculations involved in generating the design. Evaluate and compare resulting performance to that generated by the PID controller.
