Hi there, in my career I have set-up many many DHCP servers. Have experience that Windows does not like linux based DHCP servers, ways around this. Using DHCP to set up zero-config aspects. Know: a regular (small LAN) network can hand out 254 addresses. Some expire time is smart to do, be it a month, or so. If you get a client like Tails or a client using firejail in your network it quickly eats up all your addresses. Hope this helps. Buzz me for more into. Oh, I forgot if your network is IPv6 based, this more mesh like. If you need the fixed IP for auditing, I can tell a thing or two what really happens in a network.
