Hello, I've taught java for 4 years in a university with English as an official teaching language. My knowledge in Java is quite profound. However from my experience with other students it might take some more time to learn about all Java concepts and practice them, especially if you'd like to learn about graphics (I assume you mean by that designing simple UI).
