Very interesting project. Part of it I've already implemented during my studies (pipelining). I'm also familiar with GNU readline library (however I used it in Python project). There is one open point: "Your program must compile and run on the OS lab Linux machines." What compiler do you use? Clang or GCC? Are there any restrictions on C standard? ANSI C is required, or C99 could be used as well?
