This shouldnt take more than 1 day to complete and have it tested. I see the flow chart is quite complete. The rover just moves back and forth with respect to elapsed time.

you have not linked your motor that you plan to use, is it servo ? stepper or normal DC motor ? knowing the motor you have will help us pick the best driver for it so the main task is to read incoming pulses, we read the tON and tOFF the we decide ether or not to reverse the motor's direction i recommend Pro Mini for final product, but for testing use Uno/Nano, otherwise send me a message so we can discuss more

Hi Rod, Your text description of how it should work is clear but your flow diagram needs some help. A "clocked" S-R FF does not toggle so it should be replaced with a J-K or Toggle FF. I'm sure you could figure out how to program the Uno if you spent some time but I can provide you with a program (sketch) where you can easily tweak the parameters if you need too. If you have not already done so, you should download and install the latest Arduino IDE; you will need it to program the Uno. Regards, Jim
