Hi What exactly do you mean by scale, are you referring that there'll be more developers working on the website or does it mean, the web traffic? If it's the first then here's what I recommend. Case 1: Multiple developers working on the same website 1. Vagrant for development, managed with puppet commits will be pushed to a staging git branch which will then be deployed to a tier of testing instances in AWS 2. When testing is done it'll be merged to the master branch and deployed to the production ec2 instances. Note: For managing consistency every box will be managed by puppet. Case 2: If you're the only developer that'll be working on it. 1. You can develop and test in your own vagrant vm and when you're happy then you can just push to master branch 2. Then deploy to the production tier. Besides the rest of your requirements will be handled by puppet configuration management. Moreover I've done these kinds of setup in the past and I'm an AWS expert as well.
