Write some Software

Hi This is a nicely specified project. I would suggest I write a VBA macro that sits on top of a workbook with a spreadsheet for each sentence type in the first column of those sheets. Then another sheet for products and their attributes. The VBA will loop through all the active products and choose a random sentence for each part of the sentence description. That way you can have variable numbers of sentences for each type of sentence and add or delete as you wish in Excel. Just no blank rows ideally! The VBA output can be written to another spreadsheet (or another column of the same spreadsheet that has the products on it). Then each time you run it the macro, it will produce a random sentence for all the products (which might well take half an hour if there are 100,000 products). I would also suggest having 3 or 4 spreadsheets so that you can avoid running into scale problems. Better to run 5 jobs of 10 min each rather than 1 job that takes 50 min and then you decide the output is wrong. I am not sure that a GUI is really what you need? It would be possible to run this in python quite easily too if you created files of products and the various sentences, but probably VBA is more maintainable. Look forward to hearing from you Mark
