Small Desktop Application

Small desktop application. I have written the program in classic ASP but would like it re-written in Visual Basic to be used as a desktop application and also a learning experience for me. Compiled program as well as all source code upon completion. The look of the application is not important, current screenshots will be supplied. Final application will access an SQL database but for development/security reasons I will supply a copy of data needed in Access format. Only one table will be accessed and only five rows of data collected. Nothing written to database just read. Along with reading from database settings will be read from text file ([login to view URL]) and a simple URL. (url returns "number1:number2" this could be an XML stream if easier to read) This is a very simple application. In short the program asks for a Customer ID. When the customer ID is entered the program retrieves customer information from database and based on 2 variables from database and settings defined in a [login to view URL] file the customer is given a level 1 through 5. The customer name is then displayed in a color based on the level. (example 1:black, 2:orange, 3:purple, etc... colors are one of the settings defined in the [login to view URL] file) The interface now also displays current commodity trading price for two precious metals, retrieved from simple url above. A weight is entered and based on the customers level the program returns a dollar amount. This is a very simple application and will make much more sense once screenshots and files are provided.
