I need to convert a DTS package to SSIS. There is an ActiveX script that needs to be converted to VB.NET. The script examines files, applies logic, and uploads a subset of those files to a FTP site. The script parses a directory for all file created since the last time the DTS was executed (a global variable). Then the script reads a list of prefixes from a table in the SQL server (i.e the table has a list of 2 digit numbers, 34, 23, 67, all files that start with these digits are kept). The script then establishes a connection to our FTP server and transfers these files. Then the script gets a directory listing and compares it to the upload list to verify all files were uploaded (this was a workaround due to the limitation in the FTP file task in DTS, I'm not sure it is still needed.) The completed result can either code the FTP transfer in VB.NET or can pass a file list to the FTP Task in SSIS 2008.
