I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese, and I can handle both simplified and traditional Chinese characters. I was graduated from UCSB with a bachelor degree in Philosophy. My wide range of academic interests and working experience are all very helpful in my 10 years long translation career. Furthermore, I am currently taking courses in legal/medical interpretation at UCLA Extension, I am also working as a part time phone interpreter (Mandarin) at Language Line.
My strength resides in my profound knowledge in Chinese literature and history, mixed regional backgrounds, as well as having a keen interest for the cultural and social affairs of various Chinese regions. Throughout my 10 year career as a professional Chinese translator in United States, I have been facing the challenges to re-create artistic rendition of English advertising copy that appealing to different regional groups of Chinese population.
