I am a master's degree holder in Mechanical Engineering by qualification and have 4+ years of experience in Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS. I have worked on various kinds of analysis like static structural, thermal (steady-state and transient), thermal-static coupled analysis, modal, harmonic, and fatigue analyses. As far as thermal modeling of laser modeling is concerned, I am very hopeful that this problem can be simulated using Ansys workbench. To be particular, spot weld option is available in Ansys WB to define a weld interface. We could discuss more in detail if you are interested. Thanks.
