We are attempting to implement a Quality Feedback mechanism in to our invoicing system. Each invoice generates an attached Quality Report that the client would fill out and send back with their next shipment. We have a large SQL database that contains all of the product information and is very much open. The manufacturers of the software are very helpful and can help identify which tables to interact with.
In short, we want to have a quick and easy input mechanism for the data that is returned to us. It would require the user input a "Case Number" and associated "Invoice Number" as well as the responses to the 5-6 questions filled out. The responses are all numbers (1-5) or Yes/No (Y or N).
The input mechanism would error-check that the case number and invoice number are married and that a previous entry for this invoice has not already been entered. It would populate certain fields based on that Invoice Number (pull Client Info from SQL db, pull invoiced items and their respective departments from the db, and associate the Quality Scores to each item invoiced).
The result would be a reporting mechanism that would allow us "drill down" on department, customer, item, etc and to do so over any chosen length of time. In this manner we would be able to see if Quality Scores are improving or worsening over a period of time and be able to see that for a specific client, a department, a product (invoice item), or for the business as a whole.
Remote access to the network is available. The input and reporting mechanism would be left up to the developer, but either a intranet/web-based application or MS Access is preferred at this point. We are open to suggestions as to how this could be best pulled off. MS Access limits us to only input on those machines that have Access whereas a web- or intranet-based solution would allow anyone at any station in the facility to input data.
LAMP (via Apache Friends XAMPP) or MS IIS services are available.
The goal would be a fast and friendly input mechanism with a simple reporting system and data extract-ability.
Our facility is open Monday - Friday 8am-5pm CST and the software manufacturer is open Monday-Friday 8-5 EST. I would rate my tech level as intermediate to high. I am outsourcing this because my database skills are less than desirable (although I understand them, I can't yet create and maintain the relationships or program an interface for them).
********** HOPE TO GRAB YOUR ATTENTION ********** We have recently done exactly one similar application, with lot more features than listed in this project description. We have done plenty of such apps in the past. Please find the demos of our apps in the links provided in the attachment.
Hi,
I have 8 years experience in .NET and SQL Server. I think we should design a ASP.NET website for input and SQL Server Reporting Services can be used for Reports.
