We need an app that we want to use in hotel rooms in IPTV deployments. It will run on an android remix mini so KitKat 4.4 would be a good SDK to work with The app will be called: StreamSERVE the app will be developed and deployed in two phases. first a basic app as described below and then a fully featured app including server backend. Basically the app should open on device startup and can not be closed by an ordinary user, just by an admin - First screen is a welcome screen with two states (checked in and housekeeping) which needs to be customisable. Maybe a full screen image that the client can design with a welcome message that you can pull the client's name from the server (will get to the server.) - Just after the welcome screen should be a modern menu that contains the following options: o About Hotel & Services  This will be a static screen that client logo and text can be customised or where they can just put a full-screen image o Channels  RTSP & HTTP Streaming  It will be a short list of channels that we will draw from a digital satellite TV system and some online sources o Web Apps  App shortcuts to youtube, Skype and Facebook o VOD (Video on Demand)  Small media interface picks up movies in a folder on the server and organises them by release date and/or genre  Pay Per View Features of app that are very important for our plan Customisability - the more we can customise the better Support for HDMI-CEC Web GUI for configuration / management Admin and user modes - admin mode must give full access while user mode is very limited and restricted. Ideally this should be done on Android Studio so that we can later make changes to it as we see fit. Vision for future development The application must be expandable so that we can deploy in two Phases First we deploy the basic fuctionality as above and then we look to add the following later - Internet radio - Room service - Messaging system with PMS integration - Wake up alarm - Hotspot functionality - Sleep Mode Backend server must be able to signal device at checkout to reset to defaults and delete all user data like Facebook and Google and Youtube The basic configuration file must also be on the server and only be pushed to the device after each reset. We must be able to manage devices remotely but I'm looking at a solution to that problem already. We need to look at Licensing functionality too. maybe get a key generator.
