Web hosting companies research job

Hello I am starting a web hosting company with a friend well he is more experienced in creating and managing web hosting companies but his last company end up selling ( idk why ) now he is creating a web hosting company with me and to be friendly i am not sure that the guy packages will take me in any profit of any kind .
