The assignment will involve the following tasks: 1. Consider a project idea in your organization or select any business sector or service area (e.g. manufacturing, water & sanitation, roads, energy, health, education, etc.), and using brainstorming and other relevant secondary data, identify the Core issue or Problem. 2. Using appropriate tools, conduct a stakeholder analysis to identify the key stakeholders who you can invite to participate in the project design workshop and later in M&E activities. 3. Focus on the Core Problem and conduct a problem tree analysis to determine causes, sub-causes, effects and long-term outcomes. 4. Conduct an objectives/solutions tree analysis. Alternatively, you may just develop a Results Framework from Step 2. 5. Delineate one project intervention/strategy from the Solutions/Objectives Tree or from the Results Framework. 6. Develop a Log-frame Matrix for your project. 7. Develop an Indicator Matrix using the example given in class. 8. Develop a M&E Framework or an M&E Plan for your project using the templates given to you in the class notes. 9. Draft evaluation ToR for a terminal evaluation of the project.
