Replacing a python string if exist in more than one list.

I have two lists P1 and H each of which has nested lists of the form [w : t]. If there is a common (w) between H and P1 I would like them to be replaced by a variable like (X, Y, Z, .. etc). More explanation of the problem can be found in : [login to view URL] However, I would like it to be fixed very soon if one can try to fix it in the next couple of hours, I will be interested.
