I'm interested in helping with your project. I haven't heard abour kroum, googling it I found it is some kind of measurement instrument. But from your project description I get you maybe only need a simple program to reformat data, without going to a physical port or device. Or maybe some minor update is all that is needed on your current software stack. So if this is what you're after, I'm ready to go ahead. I can edit the existing program, or write a new, in C or Python for Linux or Windows.
