Do you want to launch ping terminal from client machine? Or do you want the client to make a request to your server, and your server in-turn will do the ping and return the ping results to the user. Later is easy because all I have to do is to issue an ajax call to your server and that would fetch the ping results. But in the former case, you can't access system hardware and use ping command on client machine. In that case, you can measure the load time of an image and provide an approximate ping time to client. But this time will not be as accurate as the packet here is HTTP instead of ICMP. To see the result of client ping in realtime, you need to use something like websocket, which will send back the response in realime. But you can also opt to use ajax (albeit that would not be realtime).
