Hello,
I am trying to learn basic development and would like to build a home security system on a Raspberry Pi 2 with very basic input and outputs with the ability to email me if alerted. This is step one of the project that may grow into a home automation system. I will do the hardware side, but just want to have a program written that will allow me to remote monitor my house (via website, app, etc) and have the following inputs and outputs:
- If a GPIO (input) trigger (switch) is tripped it turns on a light or alarm (output pin)for a few seconds and sends me an email of the pin or switch name that was tripped. I would like 3 of these switches that will trigger the alerts
- Would also like to monitor the temperature and humidity of the house (I have the sensors) and alert me via email or pop-up if it exceeds a range.
- Optionally, would like to turn on a little LED remotely
I would like this to be done in Python (very well documented) so I could learn how it works better. If this works well, there will be much more on this and many more electronic related projects that I would like to find someone to work with. Thanks.
Joe
Hi Sir.
I'm expert in Python programming and I have some experience with RPi. I'd like to work on this project, and I hope You'll be satisfied so we can continue our cooperation.
Best regards,
Fejs.

Hello,
I am an experienced python developer. I will be glad to help. Currently I am studying the rasp. materials because I am involved in a similar project; controlling sensors.
Regards,
Mehdi
I've playing with Raspiberry PI and Arduino for years, so this is going to be piece of cake. Just tell me the sensors you have, brand and the ranges you would like to set.
I own a linux board (a BeagleBone) and have used Python on it. While different, many of the concepts are the same. I am also patient and willing to teach. I speak English natively. I have been working with Python and Unix system for a few years now. While I haven't used PHP I can write web servers in Python and websites and I can make them functional and user friendly. For the fee you listed I can set you up a server and a website that serve as the basis of the user interface for your security system. Then depending on the network interface I can help you get it connected to your home network and to the web server/website. After that I can write the Python script for the pins that and humidity sensor and if you have chosen a network interface have them send an email whenever there is an abnormal situation (either humidity or the switch being moved). Finally if there is time I can work the LED. But most importantly, we can take some time on Skype or the like for a few minutes for some questions if there is anything I've done that you still have questions about.
