I am looking for a PHP programmer to improve upon a web application, currently found at http://[login to view URL] I am looking to build upon the existing functionality of the program.
I have a set of features I'm looking to build into the application. At the same time, I am very open to programmer's freedom on implementation to make the application work. Knowledge of astronomy helpful, but not required. Must be a good programmer with PHP, database interaction (mySQL). The program uses PHP code to upload a file from a PC and parse it as well as data collection from a web query. The program currently uses highland charts for graphing (javascript).
## Deliverables
These requirements would make the application usable. In its current format, it's not ready for others to use and as such, all work can be done on the live version. It is best to work on my server as the database and php code are working happily together already.
In general, the areas slated for improvement are as follows: I have a more specific list we can discuss if interested.
* Improve graphing? Most important is the ability to add series to chart (multiple spectra displayed simulataneously)
* Improve data searching
* Meta data fields prepopulated for faster uploading of multiple samples
* A few additional admin tools ( "reject" data, suspend/delete accounts, get user lists)
* Data normalization at upload (set largest value to 100 and each other datapoint whatever fraction of that number)
* Improved interaction with SIMBAD (astronomical object queries via the web with text output) including parsing output from query
