Magento price calculator square meter and linear meters

We want to setup a website using Magento where clients who want to buy cut to size MFC (Melamine faced Chipboard) with edged panels can do so. First step would be for the user to select the finish type coloured panels or wood effects panel. Then they would be asked which thickness 9, 12, 15, 18, 25, 30 mm with 18mm being the default. Next they would be asked the Length and the Depth of the panel in mm (Millimetres). Note: Maximum panel size 2790x2060mm. On entering the size a shape representing the above dimensions should show with the colour or wood effect that they selected. This would allow the client see the shape letting them know that they roughly have put in the right size. If we are dealing with a wood effect MFC then the client will need to give us the grain direction which could be achieved by always having the gran on the images running horizontal on the above shape representation. So if the user swaps the length by the depth this would change the grain direction. On each side of the rectangle or square representing the shape should be a pick box with the default being selected. This is so the client can identify what edges they want us to put on the PVC edging. Pricing: to be worked out on the square meters with a minimum of a meter squared always being charged along with the amount of linear meters edging used with a minimum of 1 meter charged. Different panels “names and thickness” will have a price per Square meter. Edging would be charged at the same price but we may want to change this price from time to time. Meter Variable for Edging Type: €0.50 Meter Variable for Panel image: [login to view URL] How I understand it would work is the user goes into a customised shopping section (Magento Extension) that can great a unique product based on the user inputs. 1. selecting the panel finish (This can be standard Magento variable) 2. selecting the panel thickness (This can be standard Magento variable) 3. Input the length and depth in mm 4. selecting the sides to be edged The Magento Extension then works out the detail from the above in six steps A, Above 1 and 2 give the panel being used a price per Sq Meter from a database of Panels. Example Code OAK18 for an Oak finish 18mm thick panel and a price field of €27 Sq meter. B, Above 3 converting the mm to meters and multiplying the length by the depth to get the Sq Meters and multiply the price field above by the Sq Meters giving us the price of the raw panel. C, Us the *.jpg of the panel to give the user a scaled image of the board size and finish based on 3 and 1 above. D, Above 4 again convert the mm to meters and add the length of the sides selected. Top Length, Left Depth, Bottom Length and left depth = total edging length. E, Add the price of the raw panel and the total edging length giving the selling price.
