php checkemail function

This is super small. I have a php email validation script written for Windows. It checks whether a user's email address actually corresponds to a real domain. To do this a php lookup function checks DNS record corresponding to a given Internet host name or IP address. It searches the DNS for records of a specific type corresponding to the given host. This Project is to make this or something like it work on Apache. I've attached the code for windows as reference. Once you get this function to work, I have a real form that I need to put it in to validate email address entered. I need this done quickly. Bonus to you if you can turn it around in 24 hours.
