I want to place a dot on a world map website image to pin point a location. I will write the backend code to generate the pixel coordinates for where this dot should be placed. But I do not want to generate a new bitmap each time...I simply want the dot overladed on an existing image. I want to do this the simplest way possible that's compatible with IE6 and FF.
I will be able to generate html page at page request, so you need not worry about quering the coordinates.
UPDATE: Please note that this si for an embedded device that does not have internet access. (can't grab a map from google)
Also all the html pages are dynamically generated from a python based web framework. So any post processing will be done here. (So no PHP, ASP, etc) Because of this the method used can have 'static' values in the page. (And we will simply generate the proper values when the engine generates the page)
What I need is the final static HTML/CSS/etc page done as an example. I'll merge that myself into our frame work myself.
## Deliverables
Once the stand alone page is done I may need some help merging into our exisiting CSS / Ajax code.
## Platform
IE6 Firefox
