Project Description: We need someone who is efficient in Desktop Publishing, specifically using Microsoft Word in a way that allows us to take the finished file and save it in .html format to be edited afterwards in Dreamweaver for use in our ebook publications. The ideal person will be able to create a nice looking desktop publishing file in Word. We've used one of the Word Templates that you can get from [url removed, login to view] and it's alright. We're looking for someone to create better designs than that though. The problem we have right now is we are creating these files in Word and they look fine. Then, of course we need to open them in Dreamweaver and they "fall to pieces" and look horrible. It's due to all the style sheets or layers that Word implements. Then, we end up having to totally re-do the entire document IN .html because of this. I want someone to re-do a 469 page document for us. It will be done in Word in such a way that saving it as .html and opening it in Dreamweaver allows us to see the EXACT thing we see in Word. As a result, you won't be able to use Word Styles. You'll need to lay it out another way. You should be able to determine the best way to proceed based on your past experience with Desktop Publishing. Right now the contents of the 469 page document is text only. There are no graphics. We'd like some graphic symbols to be added to the desktop publishing file, a nice table of contents and so forth. Just jazz it up a bit in a tasteful way. It can be a graphic if you need it to be. We don't care as long as it's included on every page. Along with your bid for the 469 page document (text only right now), please provide examples of other desktop
## Deliverables
At the end of EVERY page we also need our copyright notice to be included. This is not on the original 469 page document so you'll need to add this to each page either automatically in Word (as long as it appears when you open the file in Dreamweaver) or by other means. It can be a graphic if you need it to be. We don't care as long as it's included on every page. Along with your bid for the 469 page document (text only right now), please provide examples of other desktop publishing work you have done. We've got to see samples (screen shots of several pages are okay, covering a few different documents) before we can select a bid. The completed document needs to be delivered to us in .doc format. All fonts, symbols, graphics and any page elements you use must be provided to us along with the .doc file. We also need a copy that is editable in Dreamweaver, so you will need to deliver a .html file to us as well. When the .html document is open in Dreamweaver it must be editable without having to make changes. You must not do it in .doc first then re-do it manually in .html. That takes too long. We do and will always retain the rights to this document. You may not use this document for any "portfolio samples" since the information inside is not freely available on the net. A sample layout for the Table of Contents and the first page must be sent to us within 7 days. We will approve the Table of Contents and sample page then you can continue. We would like the remainder of the 469 page .doc file and the .html version within 14 days. If that is not enough time then please tell us in your bid WHEN it's feasible to expect the file to be returned.
