We have recently purchased and installed [PHPLive][1] onto our website which is a Joomla OpenSource site. We have found that this software does not do as much as our previous software called [Live Person][2].
PHPLive only tracks the IP address from the traffic monitor for visitors and you will only see more detailed information about them if they request chat with you. We installed a modification for visitors even if they don’t chat with us which lists city, state, country, time zone, etc. To view the output the operator needs to go to the traffic monitor link in the Chat Request Monitor screen. This section displays the number of visitors on the website.
Currently PHPLive requires you to have multiple windows open for different people from which you are chatting with. We want to be able to chat with all people in one window and just click on their name or a tab with thier name ot get back to thier chat window. This makes monitoring multiple chats at the same time possible.
Deliverables:
1. Remove requirement of email to chat make this field optional and say optional because users are reluctant to accept a chat when they are forced to provide contact information.
2. Currently when you are chatting with more than one visitor at a time you have multiple windows open because PHP requires a new window for every chatter. We need there to be one central chat window with tabs to move between visitors.
3. PHP involves several clicks before we actually start talking to a person and there is this feel of not being “live??. We would like to reduce the number of clicks to chat with a person.
4. Make the admin login for chat monitoring nice looking.
