Omaha Poker Odds Calculator(repost)

This project is intended to educate novice and experienced poker players about card odds using shared information. The programmer must have good mathmatical skills and basic knowledge of the poker game commonly known as Omaha and Omaha Hi/Low.

Users will be able to create a simulation game, that mimics a live in-person game.

The project consists of a server/client program, allowing up to certain amount users to connect to the server via ip address on a defined port.

The poker game this project will be designed with is Omaha.

This server/client application is for an educational data analysis in major vegas casinos today.

## Deliverables

The program must consist of a server/client program. Both the server, and the client are two seperate applications.



The server must be executable on Windows XP Home & Professional Edition. Once the executable is opened, it asks the user:

(1) Type of Game (Omaha or Omaha Hi/Low)

(1) TOTAL players that will be able to connect

(2) User typed password

(3) Which port the server will run on

(4) Host Button

Once the user defines the above data(1-3) and clicks the host button, a command prompt screen is opened that records the data for all clients in a command prompt.


_The client must be executable on Windows XP Home & Professional Edition. When the client executable is opened it prompts for

(1) Name of player (client)

(2) IP Address of the server

(3) Port on which to connect to

(4) Server Password

(5) Connect Button

Below the statistical data there is a scrollable chat console, that the clients are able to chat with each other. At the very top of the GUI, has a button that says "Deal".

(Deal aka refresh) When this button is clicked, all of the clients cards are removed along with all five community cards. Every client connected to the server are allowed access to this option.

When a new hand is delt, they are able to click 4 cards into their card inventory that are then displayed above their name. Once a card is clicked and inserted into the client's inventory, that card is removed at the bottom of the screen from ALL CLIENTS GUI. Their four cards are publicly displayed to all clients that are connected. Once all four cards are in the clients inventory, the hand ranking percentages on the right application are displayed for each client. All clients are able to view each other's cards and statistics. If the client clicks on a card in their inventory, it is then returned at the bottom where it was first displayed when the application started. After the client choses all four cards, they are able to chose five more cards which will be the community cards, commonly known in Omaha. Each client has the option of chosing the community cards. When the community cards are displayed, they are able to be clicked again to be returned to the card inventory shown at the bottom of the application.

*NOTE*After every face up card is shown in the client application, the client's hand rankings change accordingly. There are 52 cards in the deck, from which these statistics come from. Statistics are percentages of completing the type of following hands:

Omaha Low Hand % (Omaha Hi/Low ONLY!)

Pair %

Two Pair %

3Kind %

Straight %

Flush %

Full House %

4Kind %

Straight Flush %

This should be able to calculate exact probabilities based on all possible dealer combinations in reasonable time using optimized algorithm techniques created for both Omaha and Omaha Hi/Low.

These stats are recorderd per client, and each client's cards change in REAL TIME to all connected clients.

All GUI and images must be created by the coder, without any copyright infragmentations.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

## Platform

The server and client, both must be excuted with Windows XP Home and Professional Edition. The programming language solely depends on the coder. As long as the application(s) work accordingly, the language in which programmed does not matter.
