Hello everyone,
This is Jonathan Regan here :)
Thank you for taking the time to read this project description.
Hopefully, this will be an easy job for a Windows programmer ...
I would like you to code a piece of software that runs on all versions
of the Windows operating system. The software will be a stand alone
application, and will NOT require an installtion process.
General theme: - A powerful version of the "Cut and Paste" process.
I would like to be able to select and copy text from any page on the
Internet, directly into this piece of software. Then, when I hit a key
combination (say Control-T or Control-C), whatever I have selected
with my mouse, will be cut and pasted directly into the software, to
create HTML content pages, ready to be uploaded to the Internet.
The software will work like this ...
When I run the program, it will ask me to fill in a variety of fields,
and I should be able to save and load previous saved "templates".
(More on the template idea in a second)
These fields will include meta based information used in the normal
creation of a webpage. I will input information into these fields such
as the "title" of the page, the "meta-tags", a "meta-description", and
the "robots" file location etc. Basically, I require the ability to define
the standard HTML information used by most search engines spiders
to "understand" a webpage.
I must also be able to input keywords in a "keyword1", "keyword2",
"keyword3" - basically seperated by commas. The software should
take a collection of keywords that I type in, and use these in the
keyword field of the page that is being created. (Just thought I'd
mention this, as I need that particular format "with the commas")
OK. They are some of the fields. The next field is the "width" of a
table that I would like to appear on the page that the software is
now creating. This is a simple HTML table, and I will define the
width in pixels. (So, the software is creating a page that contains
a centered table, of X width wide. This is where the cut and pasted
content will appear)
So, when I find a website or page I like, I should be able to load the
software, type in the Title of the page, the meta-tags, description etc,
and the width of a HTML table that will contain the words and paragraphs
that I want to copy off the internet - directly into this piece of software.
The general idea, is to allow me to create HTML pages, that contain full
meta-tag information, and that contain a table that is a fixed width wide,
that contains cut and pasted information from the Internet. I should also
be able to directly modify the contents within the table. For instance, I
should be able to delete words, add spaces, hit return. The normal type
of formatting functions (like in NotePad), just so I can finalise the output
for the page I want created, before I save it as a HTML file, or as a new
"Template".
At all stages, I should be able to save the progress of my work. So, for
instance - I may create a template that has all my descriptions and tags,
and I will save this as a "template", that can be loaded at another time.
This would allow me to load up the template, and simply cut and paste
information from various sources directly into the page, (that has info
alredy typed in from a previous occasion) - and then I would be able to
save the HTML page, for use as content for my website.
Hopefully this is pretty clear. If you have any questions then please let
me know via the message board. One more thing. I require full "rights"
to this software, including the source code. I have no plans to sell it, but
I would still like the ability to sell this sort of program in the future.
I have a great reputation at Scriptlance, and I look forward to working
with another talented programmer on this fairly interesting project.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Jonathan
