Scope of Work Summary
The successful freelancer will work with us to focus our market research efforts with selected countries, through various methods of qualitative, online and quantitative research. Scope of work includes the expanded education and training of internal marketing resources to capture and maintain information moving forward following the initial study.
The freelancer will support the efforts of implementing a global market share analysis study based on the predefined phase 1 scope. The freelancer will serve as tactical and strategic support to all key areas of the study, including but not limited to study implementation and training of global marketing teams on best practices for future internal research and data maintenance.

We have had a continual challenge of fully identifying and validating market share. Our goal is to more comprehensively understand our presence within the marketplace, including competitor share by key industries, regions and product lines. There has been limited and informal market research done internally to date, through qualitative and informal communication channels within the global organization.
Key regions include:
USA, Mexico, South America (including Brazil, Peru, Columbia), Europe (including Germany, Spain, UK, Turkey, Northern Africa), South Africa, Asean region (including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos and Vietnam), India, and China.
Key industries include:
Mining (Coal, Gold, Platinum, Copper and above ground and underground), Coal Fired Power, Cement, Sugar, Pulp and Paper, Aggregate/Hard Rock and Bulk Material Ports.
Primary product lines include:
Primary belt cleaners, secondary belt cleaners, belt trackers, idlers, impact cradles, support cradles, tail plows, transfer point skirting, wear liners, transfer chutes, air cannons, industrial vibrators (explosion proof and non-explosion proof), screen vibrators, sonic horns, dust collection systems, dust suppression systems, conveyor guarding and end-user vibration (mobile truck vibrators, bin/hopper vibrators, electric vibrators, pneumatic vibrators, ball and roller vibrators).
The proposed scope of work is broken down into three phases and listed below. All phases of work are to be completed in 2012. Depending on the outcome of the 2012 budgeting process, there may be an opportunity to expand the scope of work into 2013.
Phase 1 – 2012 Planning (May-June)
• Interview internal staff to understand 2012 goals, strategies and tactics
• Review current market share information, competitive intelligence and data
• Refine Phase 1 scope of work to meet budget and timeline requirements
o Phase 1 should include but is not limited to the following:
 Regions: USA, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, Turkey, South Africa, India, China
 Industries: Coal Fired Power, Mining (coal and non-coal, above and underground), Cement, Aggregate, Oil
 Products: Belt Cleaners, Impact Cradles, Support Cradles, Skirting, Industrial Vibration, End User Vibration, Dust Suppression, Dust Collection, Air Cannons
• Develop market share research implementation plan, including internal and external activities, preparation work, milestones and timelines.
Phase 2 – 2012 Execution (July-September)
• Develop in concert with internal team implementation plan and rollout global study
• Support the key functional areas of execution for fall reporting presentations, which may include:
o Data review and interpretation
o Study methodology details
o Validation of data
o Best practices on data capture
Phase 3 – 2012 Report (October)
• Deliver full market share analysis based on Phase 1 scope
• Define and determine Phase 2 scope and timeline
