pointing arrow

a system that points an arrow in the direction that the surface it is mounted on moves in (in the surface’s plane). the surface should be a rectangle on which the entire system is built. the arrow will be connected to an electrical motor that can rotate 360deg continuously cw and ccw thus pointing the arrow in the direction it turns to. the system’s main electronic components will be a microcontroller and a 2 axis accelerometer. The accelerometer will serve to provide the micro-controller the current acceleration direction which will be used by the microcontroller to calculate the direction of movement of the surface and to send the appropriate commands to the electrical motor to point the arrow in the direction of movement of the surface. We envision the system to sit on a hard and light surface that will be large enough to house all the components. A 5” surface should be the maximum size. Another option could be that the motor with the arrow will be mounted as a second level above the microcontroller and accelerometer. The smaller the prototype the better.
