Java JasperReports designer/developer

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT We need a Java JasperReports expert capable of developing a Java project that will generate a series of reports. You will be responsible for designing the reports. This project is to be integrated in a larger Java Spring-based web application. There will be a total of 7 reports. The input will be a XML file (or XML binding classes depending which is more robust, scalable and fast) and the output report shall be generated in any of the following formats: PDF, XLS, HTML, XML, CSV and RTF (the report format will be specified in the input XML file). We are looking for someone that is detailed oriented, have a good taste for design and capable of developing the reports. Concerning the input (datasource) for the reports, the developer should advice us on the pros and cons of using XML files vs XML Castor binding classes. The specifications of the project will be the following: 1. A series of XSD files which describes the XML files 2. XML files with data 3. An Excel file giving some more details about the XML structure 4. An Excel file with 7 report drafts to give an idea of how the output reports should look like. 5. The name of the class and method that the JasperReports project should use. The project should be developed with Eclipse. The reports should be designed with IReports. REQUIREMENTS The deliverables we expect from the chosen freelancer will be the following: 1. Full Eclipse project with all the source code, ant builder file (all typical setup and with jar generation) and necessary libraries. 2. All the files used in the design of the 7 reports 3. Reports should have multi-language capabilities 4. Proper documentation (HTML API - Generated with Ant) and comments on all the Java classes and methods. 5. Error handling and logging (preference for log4j framework). 6. JUNIT or any other testing framework should be included in order to test the entire project as a standalone module. 7. Detailed instructions (document) on how to integrate it with Spring framework or in a Web Application. The developer will be briefed in the details before starting the project.
