UK Horse Racing Database Calculations of Results and Automatic Import

I have an Access database that I wish to populate with UK and Ireland horse racing results. If this project is taken up you can either use my existing database or create your own in Access or MS SQL. The data is extracted each day using Helium Scraper. This is saved to a [login to view URL] (Access) file containing 2 tables. I have the option to save as CSV or XML so there are some good options for data import. There are occasions when I have a further csv file which are for results scraped using another method for overseas horse racing. It contains the same fields as the Helium Scraper output. So import is compatible. For each horse racing result I need a calculation performing. This is first done by creating a Base Rating. This is done by awarding points based on the Type of race, prize money, number of runners etc. You will be referencing a set of tables (columns) which is in a spreadsheet. The calculation is a fixed formula. Preferably these references should be placed in the database as a table rather than spreadsheet being used. The base rating should be allowed to be manually amended before committing to the next step. The second part is to rate each horse from this Base Rating. This is based on weight carried and distance beaten and other items .Again these calculations are done by referencing tables (columns) in the spreadsheet The ratings should once again be allowed to be manually amended before committing to the database. Carrying out the calculations and updating the database is the KEY to this project, as is making the import and actual calculation as automated as possible. There are a number of Tables which will need linking to the results Horse Table - each horse is a unique entry. Sire Table - Each father is linked to the Horse (table) it Sires Dam Table - Each mother is linked to each horse (table) it gives birth to. Trainer Table - Jockey Table - Course Table - There is a requirement to record winning times for each course. This will contain Distance of race, Going, Time recorded This is part one of 3 stages to the overall project. The payment will be for this phase 1. Phase 2 will be around using the winning times to create speed figures Phase 3 will be way of extracting the data including populating race cards where 'race entry' details will have been scraped from a website. So I am looking for Phase 1 of this project to be carried out.
