Objective:
The objective of this job is to collect detailed information about wineries and wines from various sources and enter the information into a set of web forms that we have developed. There are approximately 5,500 wineries and 30,000+ wines that require web research and data entry. We will start with a small project of entering 10 wineries and ~60-80 wines and award the work to a few contractors. The contractor who performs the most accurate and fastest work will be awarded the full contract, which we expect to last 4-6 weeks of full-time work (40+ hours per week) with the possibility of lasting much longer.
Overview of job:
In order to complete this task, the successful bidder(s) will be collecting and entering detailed wine information. This task includes:
1). Logging in to our secure web-application to receive a set of wineries and wines to research
2). Conducing web searches to find the winery’s website (if no website is available, we will provide a list of other sources for you to search that contain basic wine information)
3). Searching the winery website to find detailed information about the winery and all of its wines
4). Entering that information into web forms and uploading wine images when available
We will be providing detailed instruction and training to the candidate(s) who successfully win the bid. After the first 10 wineries are entered (and all associated wines), we will stop to check the accuracy of the work and award the remaining work to the person with the fastest and most accurate results. It is anticipated that the larger job will take 4-6 weeks in total with 40+ hours of work per week.
Example data that you will be collecting and entering into web forms:
Winery information: winery name, winery website URL, winery address, winery description, winery history, image of winery, winery contact information, etc.
Wine information: winery, UPC code, type, vintage, winery, vineyard, location, alcohol %, residual sugar, PH value, winemaker name, winemaker tasting notes, wine awards, images of wine label and wine bottle, etc.
Overview of ideal candidate:
• Excellent English reading, writing, and speaking skills
• Experience working with wine data or researching information about wine
• Strong internet research skills (note that every winery website will have information stored in different places, so candidate must have intuition on where to look)
• Ability to commit full-time to this project (40+ hours per week) for at least one month
Note: we do NOT want to build a web-crawler to collect this information because the data is highly unstructured, every one of the thousands of websites has a different structure, etc. Please do not bid on this project if you plan to use a web-crawler approach.
I have been doing data mining, I prefer not to use dta crawlers because i feel the information is more accurate when done personally, for the last ten years and would love to work on this project with you. I am US based and a native English speaker. I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your time.

I adore research and take a lateral approach in hunting out the desired information. I am extremely accurate and obsessive in my need to provide complete data.
