Hi,
I think it's great that your daughter is writing! I started around that age and now I have novels and stories published, so it's great to see more people getting into the world of writing!
I can do a really great job with your editing. I currently run my own editing business, where I routinely proof and edit all kinds of texts: essays, dissertations/theses, fiction, articles, etc.. I’ve worked as an editor on two fiction magazines in recent years.
Some details about me:
- Native English speaker
- BA and MA degrees (English), CELTA qualified
- Published novelist, short story writer and poet
- Current editing and proof reading service for several years

Because your daughter is 11, I really want to be encouraging and supporting. Editing can be brutal sometimes, so unless you suggest otherwise, I would want to correct all 'errors' and then make merely gentle suggestions on things such as character, originality and structure (if necessary). I will be honest about mistakes, but at 11, I wouldn't want to trample on her creativity and discourage her. I'll be gentle. I'll also add developmental comments.
I will:
- Check your daughter's story for spelling, punctuation and grammatical errors
- Make *gentle* suggestions for overall story improvements
- Work to your specifications and deadlines
Please consider me for the job. I look forward to hearing from you.
David
