We will define the RFID reader hardware you are sourcing and determine the best interfacing option. I have experience interfacing with Alien UHF readers over USB and ethernet as well as near field RFID readers connected to an Arduino type microcontroller. I have also programmed Android based UHF RFID readers from Zebra and Alien. With the input into windows, I will need to know the data entry format and how it will interface. The most common method is pushing keys into the keyboard stream. This would be formatted with tab and enter key presses. There will be options to push the data into a database or append to a text or XML file.
