The following is an excerpt from an essay I wrote for an essay competition on
'Ladies as Managers"
Since the advent of time, the male sex of Homo sapiens has always been on the forefront of field and management jobs. In fact, they have been dominating in almost all the regions of money making. But as time and tide passes, myths break and stereotypes revamp. It was almost inevitable now to ignore women and confining them within the four walls of their homes was a herculean task. The myth of men being the female's aegis was shattered and the fairer sex started exploring this yet unknown and chartered territory. They openly infiltrated the yet all male department of earning, much to the annoyance and admonishment of the other gender. The ramifications were unavoidable comparisons between the two set of chromosomes.
Since the time women began to climb up through the ladder in jobs, especially management, pundits have asked what it takes to lead groups and organisations. The answer too, is as complex as the Da Vinci's code, extremely hard to answer in a yes or a no. According to some researches, while men and women are equally effective in certain settings. More often, the efficiency depends on the fit between the setting and management gender. Women are adroit in assiduity, giving scrupulous opinions, and their more coaching and mentoring style is more favorable in most management situations rather than the pedagogy, fomenting, pedantic behavior of males.
