Committed to holding an Australia wide Webinar on 17 December 2020 to promote special heavy duty industrial gearboxes which are used primarily in the mining industry, minerals processing, cement making, steel making industries. We have decided the best way to do this and to differentiate ourselves from other companies claiming to being able to do the same thing is to emphasis the experience and qualifications of the individuals in our company. Being "modest" engineers we find it difficult to come to terms with such "self enhancing" words. Our speciality is that we will design and produce a gearbox that will be specifically suited for the particular application required as opposed to a standard production gearbox being used and thus compromising the required application through structural foundation modifications, mechanical ratings, thermal capacity and mostly considerably more cost. These features are particularly important in applications where there has been: a) continuous failure of gearboxes in difficult applications b) replacement of large old gearboxes instead of repairing them (new gearbox suppliers will not replace existing gearboxes in the same "footprint". This requires redesign and rebuilding of foundations and structures costing more than the gearbox! The Principals of the Group we wish to promote are Doctor Robert Davey who with his PHD in Gear Design is the pre-eminent gearbox design individual in Australia and Ronald Griffiths who is the patriarch of gearbox companies in Australia having being part of start-up of Hansen Transmissions, in 1972, started Flender in Australia, Managing Director of Flender in UK for 5 years, returning to Australia to become Managing Director of David Brown Gear Industries for 15 years. The people we need most to have contact with are Maintenance Superintendents/Mangers at any of the large mine sites or minerals processing sites in Australia. They are they ones who have the problems, have the keep the mine running, keep the ships being loaded. We have our gearboxes made in China to our design and specification, we have our own inspection team in China, we get full reports on material content, heat treatment processes, witness testing, cleanliness, full load testing. We audit all manufacturing drawing in Australia and do site installation/commissioning as required
