AngularJS / Nodejs TTS reader

what: Need software that can read .html, .pdf, and .txt files. Similar to GhostReader for mac for NaturalReader for PC. how: Create web application front-end and node-js backend. User interacts with web app, web app loads files and plays text via the node-js backend. (the OS handles TTS. node-js backed has express route that runs the command to speak) why: Need specific features that other programs do not have. Feature List - For phase I, we require the following features: - open txt / pdf / html file - this will load the file text in the UI (3) - play button to read the text - UI splits text into sentences. UI sends each sentence to the backend. Backend speaks the sentence. - highlight area behind sentence when speaking - User can select text first and UI will only play the selected text - Playback will start from selection - Rewind and Fast Forward button - Rew and FF will jump to previous or next sentence. - Speed Control - Add slider that can control rate of speech (1) - Drag and drop file opening - Files dragged on html window will open file in app. - UI list of recent files - Recent file list is displayed in area (2) - App remembers location of recent files (last 100) - Reopen recent file - User can click recent file to re-open (2) Component List - For clarity, the project will require the following items: - NodeJS backend, express server - AngularJS based front end - base on attached mockup. backend hosts fronted - /loadRecentFile loads JSON file from HD for recent file list - /openFile, will open/convert file from user’s HD - UI calls this route with filename when user decides to open a file. - /speakText, route parameters are text text and speech rate- UI calls this route to play each sentence.
