We are hiring a developer to create only the beginning of a web application.
If these milestones are completed well, there will be an opportunity for more work immediately following. The requirements are as follows:
--Milestone 1--
We need you to create an API connection to a testing magento installation and use it to save order related information to a separate mySQL database at a users request. The mySQL and connection information will be saved in a [login to view URL] for now.
(if you're installing a fresh magento cart please include the sample data during install so that it can be used for creating test orders)
Only magento orders with the status of “Processing” will be saved. If an order already exists in the database it will not be downloaded again.
We would like to save the following information for each order so that the web application can retrieve and display it:
ORDER INFO-------------------------------------------
Date
Time
Store (Purchased from)
Order #
Admin Comments
SHIPPING INFO-----------------------------------------
Shipping Name
Shipping Address 1
Shipping Address 2
Shipping City
Shipping State
Shipping Postal Code
Shipping Country
Shipping Method
PACKING INFO--------------------------------------------
Item SKUs and Quantity Ordered
Customer Comments
-------------------------------
In addition, we’d also like to have another field available that will store the status of the order:
The possible order statuses are: “Awaiting Processing”, “Processed”, “On Hold” and “Canceled”.
All orders should initially have their status set to “Awaiting Processing”.
To complete the first milestone please send a screen shot of the order information in the MySQL database.
---Milestone 2---
Next, we need an AJAX interface constructed that will allow us to view this data.
A mockup of this interface is attached.
The user will be able to import new orders using a “Retrieve New Orders” button.
By using the text links at the top of the interface the user can choose to display orders of a specific status.
Initially every order imported will have a status of “Awaiting Processing”.
The user will be able to change the status of an order to “Processed”, “On Hold” and “Canceled”.
To change the status the user will check the checkboxes at the beginning of the row of each orders he wants to change. Then, using a drop down he will select the new status.
If the user clicks the row of any of the orders displayed a popup will open. It will list all of the information for that order. The Fields listed are the same which appear above. The information will not be editable at this time. A close button will close the popup and return focus to the orders list.
All required actions should take place without reloading the page.
After this functionality exists and it has been tested please send us a link where we can review it and approve it. Please also provide a link where we can create test orders in magento for importing. When you contact with the links please also attach the source code so we can review the process and commenting. Once approved the second milestone and this project will be complete.
