URBAN SPACE MANAGEMENT, VIEWTUBE, (OLYMPIC PARK, STRATFORD, 2009- ONGOING)
Nation building n the forging of a national identity have preoccupied the government of nation - states almost as much as economic growth n development. Such nation building effort has been particularly important in the case of post-war Britain, perhaps because of its declining empire.
While national identity has primarily been defined in abstract n intangible terms, there is evidence to show that design, urban development n feature of the built environment can be powerful contributing force to this process-perhaps because of their importance in the perception of people among whom national identity is being forged.
In this essay u r asked to identify the ways in which one of the objects, sites, buildings or events listed below were designed, built n displayed as part of a wider process of nation building.
I think should be mention things as:
History of previous Olympic games in London
To compare the last Olympic game - what they wanted to show about them national identity
How England wanna show English identity n traditions using this Olympic game (all new buildings, special projects)
How England want to show them traditions in a quite industrial area as Stratford.
How they gonna control people - tourists (transport, the greenway)
