I have a joomla website running Joomla 3.4.8 on php 5.6. It has been a very stable environment for 6+ years. One of the components called Jomsocial (responsible for site user registration) is throwing an error when users attempt to register. The error states "call to a member function get() on a non-object in .../components/com_community/controllers/ on line 817". I suspect there is deprecated code/incompatibility arising somewhere and I require a quick fix/suggestion. There is one other error which is being thrown on the back end (administration) by the same component when trying to load the configuration settings "An error has occurred. 0 String could not be parsed as XML."
